Experience the Magic of the Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids
Step into the heart of ancient Egyptian history with the Sound & Light Show at the Pyramids, one of the most captivating night-time experiences in Egypt. As darkness falls over the Giza Plateau, the iconic Giza Pyramids by night come to life with dazzling lights, powerful music, and the legendary voice of the Sphinx recounting the stories of a civilization that shaped the world.
This immersive show is a highlight for anyone visiting Cairo and is often included in top-rated Egypt Tours. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning traveler, the Sound & Light Show offers a magical glimpse into Egypt’s glorious past in a completely different atmosphere than daytime visits.
What to Expect from the Show
The Sound & Light Show in Egypt at the Giza Pyramids is an open-air spectacle that uses advanced lighting and projection technology to illuminate the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the smaller Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as the iconic Sphinx. As the show unfolds, dramatic spotlights and color effects paint the ancient monuments while a recorded narration takes you on a journey through 5,000 years of history.
The narration is available in several languages and recounts the reigns of legendary pharaohs, the secrets of pyramid construction, and the rich mythology of ancient Egypt. It's more than just a visual display—it's an emotional, educational, and atmospheric performance that connects you with Egypt’s spiritual and architectural heritage.

When and How to Attend
The show runs every evening with multiple language options scheduled throughout the week. It’s best to book in advance, especially during high season, to ensure you get a seat on the day and time you prefer.
If you're staying in central Cairo or Giza, your hotel is likely just a short drive away from the Giza Plateau. Most tour operators provide convenient pick-up and drop-off services. You’ll be escorted to the venue, guided through the entrance, and offered a comfortable spot to enjoy the show.
Don’t forget to bring a light jacket during cooler months and your camera to capture the beautifully lit pyramids. However, video recording of the show is usually restricted, so check the guidelines before filming.
