Discover the ancient wonders of Luxor’s West Bank on our Tour to Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon & Hatshepsut Temple — a journey into the heart of ancient Egyptian civilization. This comprehensive Luxor Day Trip is one of the most highly rated Luxor Optional Tours, offering an enriching experience with expert-guided insight into some of the most fascinating monuments in Egypt.
Your day begins with a visit to the legendary Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs. Hidden in the Theban hills, this awe-inspiring site holds over 60 tombs, including those of Tutankhamun, Ramses VI, and Seti I. As you enter these rock-cut chambers, you'll marvel at the vivid hieroglyphics and colorful scenes that adorn the walls, depicting the pharaoh’s journey to the afterlife. This highlight of your Tour to Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon & Hatshepsut Temple offers a rare glimpse into Egypt's rich funerary culture and artistry.
Next, you'll head to the imposing Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III that have stood guard for over 3,400 years. Rising 18 meters high, these seated figures once flanked the entrance of a vast temple complex, now long gone. Despite centuries of damage from floods and earthquakes, the Colossi remain an iconic stop on any West Bank Tour and are a must-see for photography and history lovers alike.
Your Luxor Day Trip continues with a visit to the stunning Temple of Hatshepsut, a unique mortuary temple built by Egypt’s most successful female pharaoh. Nestled beneath the cliffs at Deir el-Bahari, the temple's architecture is strikingly modern, with grand terraces, colonnades, and hieroglyphic reliefs that depict Hatshepsut’s reign and divine birth. Your guide will explain the historical significance of this remarkable site and its role in showcasing the power of female leadership in ancient Egypt.
